A houngan who practices more black magic sorcery than healing is referred to as a bokor or boko or "one who serves the loa* with both hands."
* Vodouisants believe in a Supreme God called Bondye, from the French bon "good" + Dieu "God". When Vodoun came in contact with Roman Catholicism, the Supreme Creator was associated with the Christian God, and the loa associated with the saints.
