"Triarii" is a German neofolk band playing dark and epic music. The band name is a Latin word which was the name of a type of soldiers in the Roman army before the military reforms conducted by Gaius Marius, who was married to Julius Caesar's aunt. Triarii soldiers were older and more wealthy soldiers and were better equipped and constituted the third and final line of the battle formation that the Roman army usually used at this time.
